
Nam Nao National Park is located in Phetchabun Province in northern Thailand. The nearest major town is Lom Sak, which is approximately 50 - 55 km west of Nam Nao.
It is approximately 440 km from Bangkok and 148 km from Khon Kaen.
The park was established in 1972.
Most of Nam Nao National Park, consists of mountains covered with deciduous dipterocarp forest, hill evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, moist evergreen forest, pine forest and grasslands.
It is home to an unknown number of mammal species, 360 bird species and an unknown, but significant number of reptile species. Endangered species found in the park, include Indochinese tiger, Indochinese Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Marbled Cat, Serow, Hog Deer and the big-headed turtle .
Ta Phraya covers an area of 966 km².
