
Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park, is located in Rayong Province, eastern Thailand. It is a marine national park encompassing 9 Islands and the headland of Khao Laem Ya and the 11 kilometre Mae Rampeung Beach, on the mainland.
It is approximately 200 - 220 km from Bangkok and 80 km from Pattaya.
The park was established in 1981.
Koh Samet has a relatively dry ecosystem dominated by evergreen and deciduous forests. The sea is home to 1,280,000 m² of coral.
The number of species that call this park their home is unknown. Small mammals that are known, include Crab-eating macaque, Lesser mouse-deer and Flying foxes. Bird species include Pacific reef heron, Black-naped tern, Bridled tern, Great crested tern and Roseate tern. Other birds in the park include Blue-winged pitta, Zebra dove, Coppersmith barbet and Asian barred owlet.
Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park covers an area of 131 km². The largest island is Ko Samet, which has an area of 5 km².
