
Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary is located in north eastern Thailand, in the Phanom Dongrek mountain range, in Buriram Province.
The sanctuary is part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dong Phayayen–Khao Yai Forest Complex.
It is approximately 200 km from Bangkok. The park headquarters are located is located some distance from the sanctuary entrance.
The park was established in 1996.
Dong Yai comprises tropical rainforests, dry evergreen forests, and montane forests.
It is home to 112 mammal species, 392 bird species and 200 known reptile species.
Notable species include: Asian Elephants, Indochinese tiger, Banteng and Chamois.
Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 312 km².
