Bang Pu Recreation Centre is located south of Bangkok, in Samut Prakan Province on the coast.

 

It is approximately 42 km from Bangkok.

History

The protected area was established in 1937.

Ecosystem

Bang Pu is a vital ecological site comprising mangrove forests, intertidal mudflats, and brackish lagoons.

This protected area is home to over 200 bird species, including 34 waterbird species and many migratory species.

Bang Pu Recreation Centre covers an area of  1 km².

Getting There
Ta Phraya is a remote park that reqires transport for the best and safest experience. There are no dedicated tours, so you will need to have a vehicle, preferably 4wd if you want to explore the unpaved tracks.
Set your sat nav to Ta Phraya National Park. This will take you to the headquarters / entrance.

The park has a campsite with basic amenities. 

There are a number of  houses available to rent, prebooking through the department of National Parks website at portal.dnp.go.th  is neccessary.
