
Mu Ko Chang National Park is located in Trat Province, eastern Thailand. It is a marine national park encompassing 52 Islands.
It is approximately 352 km from Bangkok and, 53 km to Trat (nearest city and regional airport).
The park was established in 1982, becoming the 45th National Park in Thailand.
The park is an IUCN Category II protected area with coral reefs.
The interior of Ko Chang, is primarily mountainous terrain covered in tropical rainforest, the coastal regions of the park have a number of mangrove forests and, the islands are home to numerous coral reefs.
Ko Chang is home to 29 mammal species, 200 + bird species and 42 species of reptiles. Mammals include the elusive Silver Langur.
Marine mammals include: Dugong, Chinese White Dolphin, Irrawaddy Dolphin, and Spinner Dolphins. Sightings are rare.
Mu Ko Chang covers an area of 650 km². The largest island is Ko Chang, which has an area of 213 km².
