United Kingdom

Wildlife in the UK has been persecuted for centuries by ignorant hunting. It is only in the last thirty years, that real effort has been made to protect and reintroduce localy extinct species. We now have reintroduced beavers, Pine Martens throughout England and Wales and Otters in every water way. But the species most overlooked in the UK are whales and dolphins. The UK is one of, if not the best place to see whales and dolphins in Europe.

Pilanesberg National Park, established in 1979 and officially proclaimed in 1984 in South Africa’s North West Province, was created through "Operation Genesis," the largest game translocation project of its time. It transformed former farmland and traditional tribal lands within an extinct volcanic crater into a 572 km² Big Five wildlife reserve.
